Math - How to find the probability

 Probability is finding out how probable it would be to take out an object from a number of objects. The probability is always written as a fraction. 

E.g 1 : 

There are the letters  S H A P E , all jumbled up in a bag. What is the probability I take out an A ?

The total number of letters in the bag are five so the denominator is five. There is only one A in the bag so the probability is 5. 

E.g 2 :

There are the letters C A T all jumbled up in a bag. What is the probability I would take out a Y ?

The total number of letters in the bag are three. But there is no Y in the bag. Only C , A and T. As there isn't a Y , the probability is 0 because however many times you try to take out a letter from the three , a Y won't come.
