Many people have heard the word sympathy and empathy. But do you now what they mean ? Well , surprisingly , they almost sound the same and almost mean the same. Though Sympathy is up to some level while empathy is at the top and is a strong word to be used in the correct places. 

Sympathy is when you feel sorry for someone but you don’t do any thing to help them. It’s not bad but let’s see an example. You’re walking on the pavement and see a beggar. Usually you feel sorry for them and give them a coin or two. But there is more for helping beggars. 

If we take the same scenario with an empathetic man and a beggar , they feel much more than sorry and can’t bear to see people in this state. This will give them an idea to help the beggars by giving them a home or shelter or sometimes even a pet to make yourself sure you won’t see them poor again. 

So this is the difference between sympathy and empathy.
